Description: William Henry Jackson (1843-1942), photographer with the Hayden Expedition to Yellowstone in 1871. He is standing next to Liberty Cap, Mammoth Hot Springs, Yellowstone National Park. With Jackson on the Expedition was Thomas Moran and the two artists worked together to capture the first views of Yellowstone. Jackson's photographs helped convince Congress in 1872 to establish the first national park. Vintage 5x7 in. copy print.
