Description: Portrait of Randolph White Calfee (1840-1917), older brother of Henry Bird (H. B.) Calfee (1847-1912), arrived in Bozeman, Montana Territory on July 13, 1865. White had freighting operations by mule train from Bozeman to Crow Agency. In 1877, his brother, H. B., was part of the group who rescued tourists from the Nez Perce in Yellowstone National Park. He also had a photography business in Bozeman and began taking photos of Yellowstone around 1874. Vintage 2x4 in. card photograph.

Description: Henry Bird (H.B.) Calfee (1847-1912), established a photography business in Bozeman as early as 1870, known for his early Yellowstone Park photographs and stereograph views. In 1877, he was part of the group who rescued tourists from the Nez Perce in Yellowstone National Park. During 1881-82, Calfee went on a lecture tour to promote Yellowstone Park with William W. Wylie, before Wylie began his camping company in the Park. They toured through the Park together with Calfee packing all his heavy photography equipment. Vintage 2x4 in. card photograph
