The rock is named Maiden Rock because before 1806 and Lewis and Clark, there was a Spirit Maiden standing on the rock and the Sioux and Nez Perce, who were fighting each other, thought she spoke to them. Vintage 11x14 in. print, 11x14 in. nitrate negative.
